Below are the Terms and Conditions when staying in a Salty Stays property. We expect all guests in our houses to respect the property and it’s contents as though it were there own and to leave the property as neat and tidy as it was at the start of your holiday.

 

Salt and Sand Pty Ltd t/a Salty Stays

The Terms and Conditions set out here apply to all Guest(s) and other occupants of or visitors to the Property during this reservation. It is a condition of the Guest(s) staying in the property that these terms and conditions are adhered to by the Guest(s).

 

The Booking and Managing Agent
Salty Stays  act as the Agent of the Owner of the Property and accept reservations in that capacity in accordance with the Terms and Conditions laid out in this document. Salty Stays  is not responsible for any errors in the description of the Property. The Property may change and the Tariff may alter before this reservation begins. If the Property is sold, withdrawn from letting or becomes unavailable for any reason before this reservation commences, Salty Stays will use its best endeavours to assist you to find an alternate reservation at a similar tariff.

 

Age restriction

To make a reservation at a Salt and Sand property you must be a minimum of 18 years of age. We do not allow “schoolies”  reservation this meaning we do not allow a group of teenagers/school leavers staying at any of our accommodation under the age of 18.

 

Cancellations of reservations:
Any cancellation of this reservation by you must be notified to Salty Stays in writing.

  1. If you cancel this reservation up to and including 30 days before the Arrival Date, you agree that you will forfeit $ 300 of your deposit.
  2. If you cancel this reservation less than 30 days before the Arrival Date, you agree that your deposit paid Will NOT be refunded to you.
  3. If you cancel this reservation within 14 days before the Arrival Date, you agree that you will forfeit 50% of the total amount of the reservation.
  4. If you cancel this reservation within 5 days before the Arrival Date, you agree that you will forfeit 100% of the total amount of the reservation.
  5. If your reservation falls between 15 December and 15 January and you cancel your reservation for any reason, then your holding deposit will not be refunded regardless of the period of notice that you give (as this is high season).

 

Payment:
To confirm this reservation you must pay the Holding Deposit. The Final Payment is due 14 days prior to arrival.
If the Arrival Date is between 15 December and 15 January, the Final Payment is payable one (1) month BEFORE the Arrival Date.
If you fail to pay the Holding Deposit or the Final Payment strictly in accordance with this Condition:-
(a) this reservation will be cancelled;
(b) you agree that:-
(i) any Deposit paid will be forfeited by you; and
(ii) any unpaid amount is a debt due and payable by you.

 

Keys:
The keys to the Property will be provided at check-in at the property on completion of registration paperwork, receipt of security deposit and confirmation of full payment of the reservation.  Any key, remote control or alarm device that is lost will be replaced at your cost, deducted from the security bond or charged to you. All keys must be returned at the time of check out.

 

Building, Renovations: 
No responsibility is taken for any noise disturbance due to building, renovations and construction works being carried out in the local area and surrounding suburbs.

 

Force Majeure:
If circumstances beyond the control of Salty Stays affect this reservation (such as flood, fire, act of God, war or threat of war, physical unrest, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activities (threatened or actual), strikes, port or airport closure, technical problems with transport, alteration or cancellation of scheduled travel services) then Salty Stays may, at its discretion, cancel this reservation and offer either:-
(a) alternate accommodation; or
(b) a proportional refund of monies paid by the Guest.

 

Check-in: 
Salty Stays will meet you at the property to check you in check in time is 2pm, unless you have made prior arrangments. Upon check-in, the named Guest(s) must sign a Guest Registration Form. Photo identification will need to be sighted.

 

Insurance:
Salty Stays highly recommends that the Guest insure themselves against loss of deposit, cancellation charges, medical expenses and loss of personal belongings and any other foreseeable loss or expense.

 

Security deposit:
A $ 1,000 security deposit is payable with final payment. 
Any cost or expense, damage, breakage or other loss applicable to or arising out of the use and occupation of the Property pursuant to this reservation (including but not limited to telephone charges, hire and cleaning charges, the repair and/or reinstatement of the Property) and any cost or expense incurred due to the breach of these Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to, any charges incurred with or by Salty Stays, Police, Fire or other emergency services or security personnel) and any additional Tariff payable by the Guest(s) will be charged to the Guest(s). If the security deposit is insufficient to pay or reimburse the whole of the cost or expense and/or additional Tariff to Salty Stays or the Owner of the Property, the Guest(s) acknowledge their joint and several liability to pay to or reimburse Salty Stays or the Owner of the Property for any outstanding cost or expense.

 

Use of the Property:
The Property is to be used strictly as a residential dwelling for residential purposes by the Guest(s) and the number of occupants nominated on the Guest Registration Form. The Property is not to be used for any other purpose or by any greater number of occupants. The use of the Property for a function, a party or other like gathering is ABSOLUTELY STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Noise created by the Guest(s) is to be kept to respectable levels and not disturb or annoy neighbours. If you use the Property for a function, a party or other like gathering or other than as a residential dwelling for residential purposes:-
(a) your reservation of the Property will be terminated;
(b) the Guest(s) and other occupants of the Property will be removed from it;
(c) the Guest(s) agrees to pay an additional Tariff  equivalent to the value of the booking (incl GST).

 

Internet connection:
The Property may have a broadband internet connection (wired or wireless). The operation of any internet connection during this reservation is not guaranteed and may be disrupted or not available. Neither the Owner of the Property or Salty Stays is responsible for or liable in respect of the availability or any disruption of, any internet connection or its use.

 

Gym equipment & Swimming Pool:
Use of gymnasium equipment and Swimming Pool in the Property (if any) by the Guest(s) or occupant(s) of, or visitors to, the Property, occurs solely at the risk of the person using that equipment. Neither the Owner of the Property or Salty Stays is responsible for or liable in respect of, any injury to the person or damage to the Property, resulting from that use.

 

Personal belongings:
The Guest(s) is responsible to ensure that all personal belongings are removed from the Property at the end of this reservation. Salty Stays will use its best endeavours to locate the items reported by the Guest as left in the Property, when the Property is next vacant. Any items found will be returned COD at the Guest’s expense to the Guest at the booking address.

 

Liability:
The Guest(s) is responsible and liable to reimburse the Owner of the Property for any damage to the Property, damage to or breakage of chattels or fixtures and fittings in the Property or any other loss suffered by the Owner as a consequence of the use or occupation of the Property during this reservation. Neither Salt and Sand or the Owner of the Property is liable for any damage to or loss of property of or injury to, a Guest or other occupant, visitor or entrant to the Property. Salty Stays will use its best endeavours to arrange for the repair or replacement of any part of the Property that fails or misfunctions during this reservation. Neither Salty Stays or the Owner of the Property is liable for any such failure or misfunction.

 

Inspections:
If Salty Stays believes that these Terms and Conditions have been or are being breached, Salty Stays may inspect the Property at any time during this reservation upon demand and without notice. Salty Stays may inspect the Property at all other times during this reservation upon 24 hours verbal notice. Failure to provide required access to the Property may result in the termination of this reservation of the Property and removal of the Guest(s) and other occupants from the Property.

 

Termination:
If this reservation of the Property is terminated, Salty Stays and/or the Owner of the Property is authorised to do all things necessary to remove the Guest(s) and other occupants from the Property, at your cost. If this reservation of the Property is terminated and the Guest(s) and other occupants are removed from the Property, the Tariff applicable to the balance of this reservation will be forfeited to the Owner of the Property. There will be no refund of the Tariff.

 

Late arrivals:
If you anticipate arriving outside of the check in time of 2pm, please contact us on 0413605733 to make alternative check-in arrangements. An additional charge will be incurred for check-ins  after 5pm.

Future reservations:
Reservations do not automatically repeat. If you wish to reserve the Property for another reservation you must make that reservation upon check-in or during this reservation. Usual reservation arrangements will apply.

 

Cleaning and linen:
On your arrival the Property is presented with beds made up as required for your reservation (excluding sofa beds and trundles). Linen is provided including bath towels (one per person). Beach towels are provided. If you require additional linen or towels or services, please advise us before you check in, and these can be provided at your cost. A small selection of travel size toiletries is provided.

The Property is a smoke free dwelling and must be kept clean and tidy and free of litter (including cigarette butts) at all times. The Property must be left in a reasonably neat and tidy state at the end of this reservation. Any charges incurred to clean the Property over and above our normal allocated cleaning time when it is not left clean and tidy or to repair damage to or reinstate the Property, will be charged to the Guest(s) and/or deducted from the security bond.

Rubbish bins in the property are to be emptied by the Guest(s) into the council bins provided that are kept at the property and are not to be left overflowing or dirty.

 

Car parking:
Some properties do not provide car parking. If car parking is provided the Guest(s) must only use the car parking space(s) allocated to the Property and not interfere with the use of common property by other persons.

 

Additional services:

Animals and birds:
Unless you have written approval no animals are permitted at the property. Some of Salty Stays houses allow for pets however this is not an automatic allowance and must have prior authorisation. Any animals allowed at the property is at the owners first approva.

No animals are permitted on the furniture inside the house – pet hair removal from furniture and/or linen/blankets/doonas will incur an additional cleaning cost that may be deducted from your bond.

Any cleaning or pest treatment costs incurred as a result of an animal or bird being brought to or kept in the Property will be charged to the Guest(s) or deducted from the security bond and the Guest(s) risk having their reservation terminated and being asked to leave, forfeiting any monies paid.

You are responsible and are required as a condition of staying at the property to pick up and hygienically dispose of all your animals droppings, plus clean up any of their urine.

 

Governing Law:
The Law of Queensland governs your use and occupation of the Property during this reservation. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Queensland.
